About the Role

Milestone Technologies is seeking a Global Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to coordinate, plan, track, and manage enterprise-scale EHS operations across multiple regions and complex regulatory environments. This role leads global EHS initiatives by providing strategic direction and executing program work-streams to ensure projects are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget. The Manager ensures regulatory and client requirements are met, maintains quality operations, establishes documented processes, and defines service ownership for sustained compliance. This position leverages program management practices—including waterfall and agile—to drive a delivery and continuous-improvement cadence focused on the EHS program vision. The role supports outward-facing functions such as financial tracking, stakeholder relationship management, and reporting, while directly managing a globally distributed team of approximately 40 EHS professionals. This role is based in the Bay Area, Seattle, Los Angeles, or NYC, with a hybrid work model and 10% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Drives large-scale global EHS programs and collaborates with employees, leadership, clients, regulatory bodies, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creates and maintains program management artifacts (e.g., project plans, WBS, budgets, forecasts, resource tracking, schedules, change requests) and ensures EHS program requirements are defined and teams meet objectives.
  • Directly manages, coaches, and develops a team of ~40 EHS professionals across multiple geographies, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
  • Allocates resources and provides teams with the necessary support to address impediments, staffing gaps, and shifting regional priorities.
  • Works with client stakeholders and site leadership to plan EHS program rollouts and service delivery schedules across the global portfolio.
  • Creates high-level preliminary program delivery plans for EHS initiatives, compliance milestones, and risk-reduction projects with stakeholders.
  • Manages team metrics and KPIs to evaluate progress against safety targets, incident reduction goals, audit readiness, and delivery milestones.
  • Aggregates individual site/regional team status into portfolio-level risks, assumptions, interdependencies, and compliance postures.
  • Reports on overall EHS program delivery status to senior leadership, client executives, and various stakeholders.
  • Ensures effective communication, collaboration, and team engagement across regions, portfolios, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Establishes and organizes EHS program plans that align with organizational goals, client expectations, and regulatory strategies.
  • Applies standard techniques and tools to carry out analysis, performance monitoring, and trend reporting for EHS operations (e.g., incident rates, audit findings, training completion).
  • Supports problem resolution, investigates incidents and near-misses, resolves issues, and acts on feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provides input to regulatory and compliance requirement baselines.
  • Investigates, manages, and applies authorized changes to baselined EHS requirements in line with change management and management-of-change (MOC) policies.
  • Sets clear expectations for self and team members; takes appropriate actions to ensure obligations are met and a strong safety culture is maintained.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in EHS management, with at least 3 years managing large, geographically distributed teams (30+ people).
  • Proven track record of successful delivery of global EHS programs and working cross-functionally with operations, facilities, legal, and client organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of global EHS regulatory frameworks (e.g., OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, local/regional regulations) and experience leading teams through audits and compliance programs.
  • Ability to create and manage detailed program plans showing critical paths, dependencies, constraints, and resource assignments.
  • Understands resource management across a large team and demonstrates behaviors associated with workforce planning, capacity management, and talent development.
  • Experience with EHS management systems and platforms (e.g., Intelex, Enablon, Gensuite, VelocityEHS, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of incident management and reporting tools (e.g., ServiceNow, EHS-specific modules).
  • Proficient with Google collaboration applications: email, spreadsheet, document, presentation.
  • Experience with project scheduling tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project) for managing complex multi-regional timelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related technical field; advanced degree or professional certification (CSP, CIH, NEBOSH, or equivalent) preferred.

Pay

The estimated pay range for this position is USD $170,000/Yr. - USD $180,000/Yr. This is an exempt role. Exact compensation will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, licenses or certifications, and location.
