Introduction
Joining our team will grant you the opportunity to actively support the business development of our global Contract Logistics activities and operate within a highly international and strategically critical Aerospace & Defense network.
Purpose of the Role
Identifying, securing, and commercially managing all new and growth business opportunities within the Aerospace & Defense vertical, with a primary focus on defense-related Contract Logistics opportunities globally and particularly within the United States market.
Tasks
- Drive the global Aerospace & Defense business development activities with strong emphasis on US defense growth
- Land new business and grow existing portfolio by actively approaching the market, building and managing relationships with key Aerospace & Defense customers, defense primes, OEMs, Tier suppliers, and government-related stakeholders
- Strengthen DSV’s position within the US defense ecosystem and increase strategic pipeline development across Contract Logistics and integrated supply chain solutions
- Cook up and manage projects during tender and implementation phases on corporate, regional and country levels
- Support Global Account Directors with large, strategic CL opportunities and customer growth initiatives
- Translate the global Aerospace & Defense strategy into focused Business Development initiatives and executable growth plans
- Drive growth within prioritized Aerospace & Defense subverticals, particularly:
- Defense & Military Supply Chains
- Aerospace OEMs
- MRO & Aftermarket Logistics
- Sure & Controlled Logistics Services
- High-value and mission-critical spare parts logistics
- Define required and missing commercial products/services necessary to strengthen DSV’s Aerospace & Defense value proposition and market competitiveness
- Drive pipeline management based on opportunity size, conversion rates, strategic value, regions and customer prioritization
- Support the development of differentiated Aerospace & Defense capabilities including secure warehousing, export control compliance, inventory visibility, resilience solutions and mission-critical logistics concepts
- Represent DSV in relevant Aerospace & Defense industry forums, associations, trade events and customer engagements to strengthen market visibility and strategic positioning
Organization
- Report into Global Contract Logistics Vertical Market Team Aerospace & Defense
- Cooperate closely with the North American Commercial organizations, Aerospace & Defense leadership teams and Global Account Directors to drive strategic growth
- Act as key connector between regional sales teams, global account management, and solution design functions to ensure alignment on target accounts and growth priorities
- Support cross-functional collaboration between Contract Logistics, Air & Sea, Solutions Design, Security, Engineering, and Operations teams to deliver integrated customer solutions
Your Profile
- Minimum Bachelor level degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience within Aerospace & Defense and/or logistics business (Contract Logistics, Supply Chain Management, integrated logistics solutions)
- Strong understanding of the US Aerospace & Defense market landscape, defense supply chains, and customer ecosystem
- 5+ years proven experience in senior customer-facing business development or account leadership roles managing strategic Aerospace & Defense accounts
- Strong network and relationship capabilities within Aerospace & Defense industry preferred, particularly within North America
- Experience working with complex RFQs/RFPs and large-scale strategic logistics opportunities
- Strong understanding of warehousing operations, supply chain resilience, inventory management, and future logistics trends within Aerospace & Defense
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to Aerospace & Defense logistics (e.g. export controls, secure supply chains, quality expectations) preferred
- Experience and success in large-scale BD projects with demonstrated evidence of delivering strategic new business wins
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization across different cultures and countries
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams in a complex global matrix organization
- Ability to travel frequently within the US and internationally
- Ability to set own agenda, work independently, and operate effectively in highly strategic and dynamic environments
- Fully fluent English language skills essential
