AON is looking for a Global Benefits Analyst/Consultant in a hybrid role based in Chicago.

About the role

Support client projects with limited direction through completion, within established time frames and financial parameters to attain overall client deliverables. Communicate with external parties such as HR contacts, plan sponsors, auditors, and plan participants to resolve issues, research and respond to routine inquiries, and gather and prepare data.

Projects include production of periodic allocation reports, data analysis, plan calculations, and peer review. Attend client meetings and present results as part of a collaborative client service team. Achieve specified client servicing deliverables and goals identified each year, which may include billable hours and utilization goals. Train, mentor, and review less experienced staff to validate data and results for reasonableness and accuracy. Assist with development and informal supervision of junior staff to ensure client deliverables are met.

Participate in training opportunities to remain current with the regulatory environment. Develop technical proficiencies to discuss concepts with both technical and non-technical audiences. Additional opportunities to participate on special project teams may be identified as part of a personalized career development plan.

Responsibilities

  • Support new client implementations by maintaining project trackers for client calls, partnering with global and local stakeholders, and ensuring all milestones in the implementation project plan are completed.
  • Finalize reporting and materials for global benefits projects.
  • Conduct meetings, take notes, monitor and execute deliverables, and accountabilities based on project scope and statement of work.
  • Identify additional potential work and any out-of-scope services requested by clients.
  • Partner with team members to finalize projects, monitor time spent, and manage project budgets.
  • Make analytical projects and provide conclusions/recommendations for work conducted.
  • Support senior members in developing business opportunities through the introduction of additional services for existing clients.
  • Conduct studies and make intermediate or final recommendations.
  • Resolve client issues at appropriate levels and inform the relationship manager and other team members of pertinent issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in an HR consulting firm or professional services firm.
  • International or non-U.S. benefits consulting experience is strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated consultative skills to work effectively in a cohesive team environment.
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of internal and external parties.
  • Experience managing complex, client-facing projects involving multiple internal stakeholders and external partners, leading delivery from initiation through completion using project management tools.
  • Strong project management and analytical ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits.

Pay

The salary range for this position intended for U.S. applicants is $75,000 to $95,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.
