About the role
The Maintenance Director oversees all maintenance operations, ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate with other departments to prioritize maintenance tasks and ensure operational continuity.
- Oversee budgeting, procurement, and inventory management for maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Develop and maintain documentation for maintenance procedures, work orders, and equipment histories.
- Lead emergency response efforts for facility or equipment failures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
