About the role

Michael Baker International is seeking to hire Part-Time Summer 2026 Interns to work in the field in Kansas. This opportunity is open to all applicants seeking an Internship within the Geospatial discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of seasoned GIS and Project Managers to assist on Indoor Mapping field collection projects.
  • Perform technical duties and daily activities as part of the team.
  • Conduct fieldwork on Fridays and Sundays, typically 20-40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Currently residing in the state of Kansas.
  • Valid US Driver's License.

Qualifications

  • Working toward an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Science, or related field of study.
  • Focus in GIS, Geography, or Environmental Practice preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS software.
  • Software proficiency – Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation.

Benefits

Travel expenses will be covered for those traveling within the State of Kansas.

Pay

The approximate compensation range for this position is $18 - $22 per hour. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
