GIM Administrative Horticulturist

Management$68k–$109k/yrFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. We must not repeat job title as heading. Must not include Job ID etc. Must preserve all substantive info, no invented or summarizing away detail. Remove boilerplate: cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, application instructions. Also remove the "Important: Candidates must be Permanent Administrative Horticulturist or provide proof of filing for DCAS Exam #6005 to be considered." That's a requirement; we should keep that as part of Requirements maybe. Also the "55a Program" etc. Also "Public Service Loan Forgiveness" maybe a benefit? It's a statement about eligibility; could be included under Benefits? The instruction: include a section ONLY when posting has real, specific content for it. So we need to decide which sections have content. Let's parse the posting: - Important: Candidates must be Permanent Administrative Horticulturist or provide proof of filing for DCAS Exam #6005 to be considered. (Requirement) - The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches... (About the role / organization description) - DEP's water supply system... It's a program; maybe include under Benefits or a separate section? The instruction says include sections only when posting has real specific content. There's no explicit Benefits section besides maybe "Public Service Loan Forgiveness" and "55a Program". Could treat as Benefits? But they are not typical benefits like health insurance etc. However we could include a Benefits section with those items. The instruction: "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." So maybe combine 55a Program and Public Service Loan Forgiveness into Benefits. - Public Service Loan Forgiveness As a prospective employee of the City of New York, you may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance programs. For more information, please visit the U.S. Department of Education’s website at https://studentaid.gov/pslf/ (Benefit) - Residency Requirement New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview. (Could be under Requirements or maybe a separate section? Not listed as a standard heading; we could include under Requirements or maybe under a generic "Additional Information". But we only have allowed headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Residency requirement could go under Requirements (as a requirement) or maybe under Qualifications? It's a requirement for appointment. So include under Requirements. - Additional Information The City of New York is an inclusive equal opportunity employer... (EEO boilerplate) - remove. - , $68,214.00 – $109,058.00 (Pay). So we have Pay. - No explicit Schedule info. So we should not create Schedule section. Thus sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay. We must not repeat job title as heading. So we will not have heading "Administrative Horticulturalist". Use the allowed headings. We need to preserve all substantive information, not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to include the details from each section. We must use

for section headings. Use
  • for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and

for prose. We need to decide what is a list vs prose. For responsibilities, we have a paragraph describing duties; could be a

. Could also break into bullet list if there are distinct duties. The posting includes multiple sentences describing responsibilities; we could keep as a

. For requirements, we have the important line about Permanent Administrative Horticulturist or proof of filing for DCAS Exam #6005, plus residency requirement. Could be a

    • list. Qualifications: we have minimum qualifications (two alternatives) plus high school diploma alternative. Could be a

or list. Since it's a bit complex, maybe use

to preserve detail. Preferred Skills: list of bullet points. Benefits: 55a Program and Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Could be a

      • . Pay: the salary range. We must not include boilerplate like EEO, navigation, cookie, legal, scam-warning, duplicated lines, application instructions. Also remove the "Important: Candidates must be Permanent Administrative Horticulturist or provide proof of filing for DCAS Exam #6005 to be considered." That's not boilerplate; it's a requirement, keep. We must also remove duplicated lines: there may be duplicate sentences? Not seeing. Now construct HTML. Start with

        About the role

        then

containing the description of DEP and the bureau seeking. We need to include all substantive info from that part: "The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system’s 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the city. DEP’s Green infrastructure program designs, constructs and maintains a range of Green Infrastructure assets that collect stormwater from streets, sidewalks, and other hard surfaces before it can enter the sewer system or cause local flooding. By reducing the amount of stormwater that flows into the Sewer System, green infrastructure helps prevent Combined Sewer Overflows and improves the health of local waterways. The Bureau of Environmental Planning and Analysis at the New York City Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an Administrative Horticulturalist for the NYC Green Infrastructure Maintenance Program. This is a management class position, with several assignment levels. Administrative Horticulturalist plan, coordinate, and oversee the development and progress of various horticultural activities throughout the city." We should keep that as a paragraph. Next Responsibilities:

        Responsibilities

        then

with the responsibilities text. We need to include: "Under administrative direction, with extremely wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgement, initiative, and action, performs extremely difficult, responsible, and complex work in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the development and progress of various horticultural green infrastructure activities throughout the city. The administrative horticulturalist will also develop and negotiate contracts including making determinations of costs, of time estimates, and of sources of funding associated with maintenance related to green infrastructure horticultural projects. Directs the oversight of green Infrastructure maintenance projects from initiation to completion. - Directs technical project management operations including project planning, budget, and scope development, vendor procurement, design and construction management, and project close- outs. In the temporary absence of supervisor, may assume the duties of that position." Note there is a dash before "Directs technical project management operations". Could be a bullet but we can keep as part of paragraph. We'll keep as a paragraph. Next Requirements:

        Requirements

        then
        • for each requirement. Requirements list: - Must be Permanent Administrative Horticulturist or provide proof of filing for DCAS Exam #6005 to be considered. - New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. We could combine the residency requirement as one li. Thus two li items. Next Qualifications:

          Qualifications

          then

containing the minimum qualifications text. We need to include both alternatives and the high school diploma alternative. Text: "A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with major study in horticulture, arboriculture, or landscape architecture and four years of full-time, paid experience in horticultural work of which two (2) years must have been in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial, or executive capacity; or A satisfactory equivalent. However, all candidates must have at least a high school diploma or evidence of having passed an examination for a high school equivalency diploma and one year of supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial, or executive experience as described above." We'll keep as a paragraph. Next Skills:

          Skills

          then
          • for each preferred skill. List: - At least five years of full-time satisfactory experience in the planning, administering or expediting of engineering design, and/or construction, or coordinating a very large engineering project, - At least two years working in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word
