Geriatrician

About the Role

National Wound Physician Group is seeking a part-time Geriatrician to provide bedside wound management in the post-acute care setting in Wytheville, VA. This position offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside wound care in skilled nursing facilities and long-term acute care hospitals
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each assigned facility
• Visit 2–3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20–30 patients per day
• Perform clinical documentation at point of care in real-time using proprietary wound-specific EMR
• Utilize cutting-edge clinical technologies and latest wound care modalities

Requirements

• Active unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in Virginia
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week for part-time role
• No work visa sponsorship is available

Training

• Paid training provided during onboarding plus 6-month wound care fellowship
• Learn from highly qualified wound certified physician trainers and Fellowship Directors
• Physician-level wound management training with clinical excellence focus

Schedule

• Part-time role: minimum 3 days per week
• Full-time role: 4–5 days per week (7am–4pm, Monday–Friday)
• No call, no weekend clinical responsibilities
• Mobile practice: visit facilities within a 40–60 mile radius of Wytheville, VA

Compensation

• W2 full-time physicians earn on average $300,000 per year plus benefits
• W2 employment contract
