Geriatric Consult Service Lead Physician

About the role

The Geriatric Consultative Service at Rochester Regional Health offers expert evaluations and recommendations to address a variety of common conditions, aiming to enhance independence, dignity, and comfort for patients, enabling them to lead productive and meaningful lives.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized consultations to primary care physicians, both in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers, specialized gerontological nurses, and an onsite Social Worker to ensure comprehensive care.
• Engage with Fellows, Residents, and Medical students, fostering a dynamic and enriching learning environment.
• Utilize the Epic EMR system for efficient documentation and streamlined patient care.

Requirements

• Board-Certified Internal/Family Medicine physician with Geriatrics fellowship training.
• Licenses / Certifications: Physician - New York State Education Department (NYSED).
• Physical Requirements: L - Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly; requires occasional walking, standing or squatting.

Qualifications

• Education: DO, MD.

Skills

• Expertise in geriatric care.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR system.
