Geothermal Energy Expert (Part-Time Consulting Opportunity)

About the role

We are seeking experienced consultants for part-time, project-based engagements providing specialized technical advisory support for geothermal project development, feasibility assessments, and investment opportunities. Engagements are demand-driven and scoped to specific project needs.

Responsibilities

• Technical reviews and expert assessments
• Feasibility study support and due diligence
• Project preparation and investment analysis
• Preparation of technical memoranda
• Participation in stakeholder consultations

Requirements

We welcome experts with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Geothermal Resource and Engineering: Exploration, geology, reservoir assessment, geothermal power generation, and emerging technologies, including enhanced and advanced geothermal systems
• Project Development and Technical Advisory: Feasibility studies, technical due diligence, engineering review, project preparation, procurement support, construction oversight, and operations
• Financial and Investment Analysis: Economic analysis, financial modeling, project finance, investment appraisal, bankability assessments, and transaction advisory
• Environmental, Social, and Development Impacts: Environmental and social impact assessments, safeguards, development impacts, and stakeholder engagement
• Policy and Institutional Development: Energy policy, regulatory frameworks, market development, institutional strengthening, and capacity building

Qualifications

Experience supporting geothermal and broader energy projects financed or implemented by U.S. government agencies, international financial institutions, bilateral development agencies, utilities, or private sector investors is highly desirable. Relevant institutions include the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Department of State, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Bank Group, IFC, and similar organizations.
