About the role

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer for our Newark, DE office. This position involves geotechnical explorations and construction observation and testing in areas such as earthwork, foundation, and construction materials, as well as subsurface investigations, calculations, and report preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform geotechnical explorations and construction observation and testing related to earthwork, foundation, and construction materials.
  • Conduct subsurface investigations including borings and test pits, and review exploration logs, lab results, and plans.
  • Calculate bearing capacity, settlement, earth pressures, pavement section design, and slope stability.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports.
  • Grow professionally into areas such as retaining wall design, slope stability analysis, pavement design, review of subsurface conditions, foundation design, and project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam (PE preferred).
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • CADD experience preferred.
