Responsibilities
- Subsurface investigations including test borings, cone penetration testing, and test pits
- Reviewing exploration logs, lab results, and plans
- Analysis of bearing capacity, settlement, earth pressures, pavement section design, and slope stability
- Analysis, recommendations, and design of intermediate to deep foundations and ground improvement for structural support
- Analysis and design of temporary and permanent earth retention systems
- Forensic investigation and failure analysis
- Preparation of geotechnical and stormwater infiltration reports
- Preparation of temporary and permanent earth retention design plans and submittals
- Business Development
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in geotechnical engineering or civil engineering; PE preferred
- MS Degree in geotechnical engineering preferred
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- CADD experience
- Experience with geotechnical design and analysis software
Qualifications
- Over 5 years of experience in Maryland and Washington, DC
