About the role

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer for our Bridgeville, PA office. This position involves geotechnical explorations and construction observation and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing projects involving earthwork, foundation, and construction materials observation and testing.
  • Assist in managing subsurface investigations including borings and test pits, reviewing exploration logs, preparation of lab testing programs, and development of Geotechnical plans.
  • Perform calculations of bearing capacity, settlement, earth pressures, pavement section design, and slope stability analysis.
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports.
  • Professional growth into areas such as retaining wall design, slope stability analysis, pavement design, review of subsurface conditions and foundation design, and project management.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering, with geotechnical concentration.
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license required.
  • 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Geotechnical analysis software such as Slide2, Settle3, RSPile, and BoreDM.

CADD experience preferred.
