About the role

Bryant Consultants, an Aperture company, is seeking a licensed Geotechnical Engineer for our Dallas, TX location. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in geotechnical or civil engineering with at least 8 years of relevant experience, including a Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

  • Train and lead team members
  • Observe and document existing conditions
  • Scope work and prepare proposals
  • Perform site studies and identify soil and bedrock
  • Establish laboratory testing programs
  • Evaluate and characterize site conditions
  • Perform engineering analysis and provide foundation design recommendations
  • Prepare reports
  • Execute project management duties
  • Schedule, plan, and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work
  • Conduct site investigation and characterization using geotechnical and environmental field and laboratory data
  • Perform and review engineering calculations
  • Geotechnical design and analyses (e.g., slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, earth retaining structures, seepage, etc.)
  • Forensic investigations and litigation support
  • Write and review engineering reports

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree (M.S.) in geotechnical or civil engineering preferred
  • Advanced knowledge in geotechnical engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of relative experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to sit for up to 80% of the time
  • The ability to stand and walk up to 20% of the time
  • The ability to be confined in a small area, such as a cubicle
  • The ability to operate phones and computers

Hours of Work

Fulltime: Defined as 5 days a week for 40 hours per week. Actual working hours will be discussed with the hiring manager.
