Summary
A Generator Service Technician is a position in the US Generator Service Division. The primary duties and responsibilities of this position are to perform inspections on customers’ generators, requiring the technician to drive to the site, interact with the customer in a professional and courteous manner, and fill out inspection paperwork indicating the performance of the generator. Level II and III technicians are required to perform troubleshooting.Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and test 5kw – 4000kw generator systems
- Interact with customers
- Correctly fill out paperwork
- Read and apply technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
Requirements
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude, with experience in mechanical and electrical fields, particularly with diesel generators.
- Technical schooling, automotive or transportation fields, commercial, residential electric and or like military experience a plus
- Willingness to learn and use new technologies.
- Available to work various shifts, weekend, holidays and on-call pager rotations with occasional out of town travel/overnight stays.
- Able to safely operate heavy equipment, forklifts, and mobile cranes according to OSHA regulations.
- Certified Journeyman Electrician a plus but not required
