Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial and industrial generator systems using available technical resources.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and performance.
- Identify required parts, procure repair materials, and complete repairs efficiently.
- Maintain a fully stocked service vehicle with tools and commonly used materials.
- Assess equipment needs and determine the scope of repair work.
- Estimate repair costs including labor, parts, and materials using department standards.
- Provide accurate estimates to customers and communicate any changes promptly.
- Complete and submit detailed service reports and documentation for each job.
- Assist in prioritizing and organizing fieldwork to meet customer timelines.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure a positive service experience.
- Take prompt action to address and resolve customer issues or complaints.
- Pre-plan and identify methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
- Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention.
- Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company and support the goal of achieving zero accidents.
- Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
- Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.
Requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience in Electrical Service, Commercial and Residential.
- Good driving record and valid driver’s license; must pass pre-employment screening requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years old (21 for drivers).
- Provide I-9 documents to establish work eligibility.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
- An equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience can substitute.
- Generator experience is a plus; generator installation is a plus but will train the right candidate.
- Good communication skills.
