About the role

The Generator Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site troubleshooting, repair, warranty/campaign service, preventative maintenance, equipment modifications, of Generac industrial products. This position requires 100% travel; a fleet vehicle is provided. Overtime is not promised or required, but during mass storms and outages, management may require additional help for after-hours calls beyond the standing on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, connection diagrams, and control systems
  • Understand components and operation of an electrical distribution and transfer switch system
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision, in occasionally adverse outdoor weather conditions
  • Experience in Electronics, Electromechanical Technology
  • Knowledge of power generation; spark ignited and compression ignition internal combustion engine knowledge

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: 3-4 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS), and Generac Industrial certification and related maintenance, startup and troubleshooting competencies, as well as competitive brand industrial repair proficiency. Load bank loading and towing and related certifications are required for larger commercial and industrial units.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associates Degree in Marine, Ag, Construction, Automotive technical programs, or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience: 6 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS)

Skills

Pay

Compensation Range: Min: $38.94/hour Mid: $42.22/hour Max: $45.50/hour

Schedule

Compensation Energy Systems is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
