General Surgery - Advanced Practice Provider - Waterloo, IA

Overview

UnityPoint Health is recruiting a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for their growing general surgery service line in Waterloo, Iowa.

Responsibilities

• Primarily in patient-focused will be inpatient general surgery patients OR surgical first assist, inpatient rounding, post-operative management, and discharge planning
• Conduct independent assessments and manage pre-/post-operative care
• Inpatient census 8-15 patients
• Interpret imaging and lab results; develop and coordinate follow-up treatment plans
• Outpatient clinic as needed
• Evening and weekend call coverage as needed
• Collaborate with surgeons and multidisciplinary staff to ensure quality patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate
• Board Certified
• 1–2 years of experience preferred in an inpatient or surgical specialty
• Licensed (or eligible) in the state of Iowa
• DEA and prescribing authority in Iowa
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
