Responsibilities
- Provides a full range of general surgical care to patients of Legacy Health System in office, outpatient, or inpatient settings, including the full and expected mix of patient problems and surgical approaches.
- Provides “non-trauma” coverage on an “on-call” capacity for Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital.
- Provides office follow-up of general surgery patients and consultation on general surgical issues.
- Participates in Legacy Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement programs as appropriate for clinical practice.
- Participates on relevant committees as requested.
- Participates in community outreach activities regarding Legacy’s general surgery services.
- Completes medical records, coding and billing schedules and forms, and other needed paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Works with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and elderly/geriatric patients.
- Works with other specialists to develop a comprehensive Legacy surgical services program.
Requirements
- Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent.
- Completion of general surgery residency.
- Medical License for the applicable state.
- Membership on LPH Medical Staff.
- Board Certified or board eligible in general surgery.
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
- ATLS preferred.
