General Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Provides a full range of general surgical care to patients of Legacy Health System in office, outpatient, or inpatient settings, including the full and expected mix of patient problems and surgical approaches.
• Provides “non-trauma” coverage on an “on-call” capacity for Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital.
• Provides office follow-up of general surgery patients and consultation on general surgical issues.
• Participates in Legacy Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement programs as appropriate for clinical practice.
• Participates on relevant committees as requested.
• Participates in community outreach activities regarding Legacy’s general surgery services.
• Completes medical records, coding and billing schedules and forms, and other needed paperwork in a timely fashion.
• Works with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and elderly/geriatric patients.
• Works with other specialists to develop a comprehensive Legacy surgical services program.

Requirements

• Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent.
• Completion of general surgery residency.
• Medical License for the applicable state.
• Membership on LPH Medical Staff.
• Board Certified or board eligible in general surgery.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• ATLS preferred.
