About the role
Joseph J. Albanese, Inc. is seeking experienced and dedicated Non-Union Concrete Superintendents at our Boise office to oversee and manage structural concrete projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all aspects of on-site structural concrete construction activities, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of labor, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and building codes.
- Direct and oversee field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers, maintaining productivity and quality workmanship.
- Monitor project progress and prepare daily reports, including work performed, labor hours, and materials used.
- Enforce safety standards and company policies to promote a safe work environment for all personnel.
- Communicate regularly with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide updates and resolve issues promptly.
- Inspect work to verify compliance with quality standards and resolve any discrepancies.
- Cookordinate and schedule concrete pours, formwork, rebar installation, and finishing operations.
- Identify and address potential project delays, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including field logs, inspection reports, and change orders.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structural concrete construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
- Experience with large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure concrete projects.
- Thorough knowledge of concrete forming, placement, finishing, and curing techniques.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and safety regulations (OSHA standards).
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Certified in OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety preferred.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus.
Other
- Primarily field-based position; exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction site environments.
- May require working extended hours, nights, or weekends as project demands dictate.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as necessary.
