Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety and plant requirements individually and hold other team members to the same high standards of safety
  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule all maintenance tasks with a weekly schedule. This is just a reword for the 3rd bullet point.
  • Develop job plans for non-routine tasks.
  • Run the daily and weekly maintenance approval meetings.
  • Run the weekly planning meetings.
  • Involves in annual OPA-90 exercises.
  • Runs our tank cleaning schedule to ensure safe tank operations.
  • Involved in contractor projects, which may include some capital projects.
  • Maintains the spare parts room.
  • Prioritizes maintenance work and works closely with the Maintenance team when on-site.
  • Aids in day-to-day operations, including covering for breaks when needed.
  • Assists with day-to-day operations, including covering for breaks when needed.
  • Meets team expectations such as reliability, teamwork, and process improvement.
  • Orders parts as necessary and issues parts from work orders.
  • Maintains critical equipment – pre-heater, hot oil, incinerator, blowers, boiler (daily walk-through).
  • Attends the daily/weekly DAM and shift huddle meetings.
  • Supports maintenance job plans.
  • Covers for critical maintenance tasks on weekends when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Must be certified as an Asphalt 1st class operator and hold a Certified Boiler license.
  • A High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is preferred, but not required.
  • Preferred to have completed leadership training.
  • Desired to demonstrate a desire to impact safety.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership in current and previous jobs.
  • Must be able to work independently or in a team atmosphere with minimal direct supervision.
  • Project management skills are required.
  • Must be able to act as a decision maker.
  • Must have a very high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must be able to set priorities and escalate issues in a timely manner.
  • Must have the ability to direct/influence third parties (vendors).
  • Must have the ability to do basic mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
  • Must be able to operate a computer including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access databases (Title V), as well as web-based tools.
  • Must be able to learn and use SAP.

Essential Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Exposure to temperature extremes – working outside in hot/cold temperatures.
  • Prolonged sitting or standing for 12-hour shifts.
  • Repetitive movements – bending, twisting, lifting, pulling.
  • Transition from kneeling/sitting to standing position on a repetitive basis.
  • Turn valves or other equipment, including using a valve wrench.
  • Moving heavy hoses (potentially filled with asphalt).
  • Crouching / awkward positioning required to work underneath rail cars.
  • Handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to move up to 40 pounds/lift up to 40lbs in a single event/35 lbs in a repetitive event.
  • Walking/working on uneven surfaces.
  • Working from heights.
  • Able to climb ladders/stairs to reach the top of tanks or equipment (maximum 50 ft).
