Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital is located in Trail and Rossland, in the heart of the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains. Practice Description
- Perform approximately 8500 surgical pathology cases per year
- Primary responsibilities include general surgical pathology and cytology case sign out, clinical pathology case sign out (e.g. peripheral blood smears, bone marrow biopsies), and transfusion medicine and local laboratory oversight
- Opportunity for medical directorship of rural area labs
- No autopsies are performed at this site
Requirements
- Recent clinical pathology experience
- Strong skills in surgical pathology and laboratory diagnostics, including transfusion medicine and hematopathology
- Comfortable with independent practice in a small group environment
Qualifications
- Canadian Royal College certified General Pathologist or board certified anatomic and clinical pathologist (AP/CP)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to relate well with laboratory staff, clinicians, and administration

Pay
The estimated remuneration is $380,812–$423,125 based on a provincially negotiated salary grid: 90% in year 1, 95% in year 2, and 100% from year 3 onward.
