Practice Description
Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital is recruiting for a Canadian Royal College certified General Pathologist, or board certified anatomic and clinical pathologist (AP/CP), for a three-person practice. The ideal candidate will have recent clinical pathology experience, with strong skills in surgical pathology and laboratory diagnostics, including transfusion medicine and hematopathology.
- Primary responsibilities include general surgical pathology and cytology case sign out, clinical pathology case sign out (e.g., peripheral blood smears, bone marrow biopsies), and transfusion medicine and local laboratory oversight.
- The position also offers the opportunity for medical directorship of rural area labs.
- Autopsies are not currently performed at this site.
The compensation includes:
- A clinical service contract with estimated remuneration ranging from $380,812 to $423,125 based on a provincially negotiated salary grid.
- Additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including a retention premium of 11.48%, a retention flat fee of $17,790, and relocation funding of $9,000 to $15,000 based on move location.
- A recruitment incentive of $15,000.
