Physician - Pathology

About the role

The Meritus Medical Center Laboratory is seeking 2 full-time, AP/CP Board-certified pathologists to join their current hospital-based group of 3 full-time pathologists.

Responsibilities

• Share 16,000+ general surgical pathology cases and 2000+ non-gyn cytology cases.
• Assess frozen sections, handle occasional grossing issues, and answer general pathology questions.
• Oversight of clinical pathology departments including clinical chemistry, microbiology, or hematology with initial assistance from the medical director.
• Weeknight and weekend call is shared evenly, with most calls being able to be taken from home.

Requirements

• Candidate must be board certified/board eligible and able to secure a Maryland medical license.
• Applicants are welcome from experienced pathologists and those currently in residency or fellowship training.

• No grossing or autopsy responsibility.
• No pap tests or bone marrows.
