Responsibilities
- Use standards (CCSS, SELS, Language) to identify common learning targets that represent what all students should know, do, and understand.
- Develop daily and weekly plans to support student growth toward mastery of standards, including year-long/course plans with essential questions and resources.
- Establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, and communicate them to students.
- Instruct students individually and in groups using varied teaching methods (lectures, discussions, demonstrations) to build engagement, collaboration, and independence.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Provide daily opportunities for students to describe reasoning, share explanations, make conjectures, and justify conclusions.
- Plan and use formative assessments to show evidence of learning, adjusting instruction based on data.
- Provide meaningful feedback to reinforce effort, promote involvement, and support progress.
- Facilitate teacher-to-student, student-to-student, and student-to-teacher feedback (oral and written).
- Analyze data and adjust instruction based on student achievement, observation, and teacher practice.
- Establish and maintain behavior rules and procedures for student order.
- Meet with parents/guardians to discuss progress, priorities, and resource needs.
- Collaborate with staff to support student learning (e.g., team planning, co-teaching).

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (official transcripts required for employment).
- Wisconsin DPI teaching license in Music (500/1500), Instrumental Music (505/1505), Vocal Music (510/1510 or 1511), or General Music (515/1515).
- Unlicensed candidates may be considered but must obtain a One-Year License with Stipulations from DPI (hired by a district first).
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; fully licensed applicants are prioritized.
Pay
Minimum annual compensation: $53,525 (26-27 TE Salary Schedule).
Schedule
- Length of contract: 192 days.
- Employment type: Exempt.
- May require evenings, nights, weekends, and travel within the district or to off-site meetings.
- School-based positions are in-person unless otherwise directed by the building principal.
- Hybrid work flexibility may be available for certain positions, discussed during interviews.
Working Conditions
- Generally safe environments with minimal exposure to environmental risks.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally; may involve walking, sitting, stooping, or reaching.
- Manual dexterity required for operating office equipment.
- May require being stationary for extended periods.
- Work may occur in varied indoor/outdoor environments, including inclement weather, non-air-conditioned spaces, or areas with fluctuating temperatures.
