About The Position

This is a .3 FTE continuing contract position for a General Music Teacher at Spruce Elementary starting with the 2026-27 school year. The position serves students enrolled in the Edmonds School District Dual Language Program, a bilingual model that aims to develop bilingualism, biliteracy, and academic achievement in both English and Spanish.

  • Possession of a Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Music endorsement, or the ability to obtain one before the position start date.
  • Prior experience supporting students in bilingual or dual-language settings.
  • Spanish proficiency preferred to support instruction within the Dual Language Program.
  • Completion of SIOP and GLAD training, either prior to employment or within the first two years of service.

Required Qualifications

  • A Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Music endorsement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Spanish proficiency.
  • Experience supporting students in bilingual or dual-language settings.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent manual work using hands or fingers.
  • Occasional reaching, bending, or twisting.
  • Moving objects regularly weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
  • Visual tasks requiring close-range work and adjusting focus.
