About the role

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is a trusted provider of mission-enabling solutions for global security. We have a wide portfolio of secure, affordable, integrated, and multi-domain systems and technologies. As a General Manufacturing Manager 2 based in Baltimore, MD, you will directly supervise approximately 15-20 represented (union) and non-represented employees in a manufacturing environment. You will manage processes, consumables, and staff to achieve budget targets, productive yields, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules in conjunction with Material Requirements Planning to meet production/delivery requirements.
  • Oversee the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure equipment, materials, and services are available as needed.
  • Assign and manage staff to maximize efficiency and achieve schedule and target productive yields.
  • Perform required SAP/MES transactions to manage personnel, planning, and financials.
  • Provide specific direction and training as required.
  • Ensure 5S practices within cell areas.
  • Utilize both internal and external resources and coordinate cell and functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, inventory control, and transportation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of professional experience in a Manufacturing, Production, or Engineering environment; Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience; or 12 years of work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience coaching and/or mentoring colleagues and/or teams across organizations.
  • Experience with SAP/MES.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Level Security Clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or other STEM area.
  • Previous project or personnel management experience.
  • Prior experience working in a represented (union) environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing Experience.
  • Technical and/or hands-on Military experience.

Pay

Primary level salary range: $115,600.00 - $173,400.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; actual offers consider the scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
