Responsibilities
- Participate in employee meetings, reviews, and training programs
- Manage in compliance with company policies, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Maintain food cost while ensuring quality standards
- Establish and maintain good rapport with staff, clients, guests, and other departments
- Manage financial acumen, including financial reporting, P&L reports, budgeting, and cash handling
- Analyze and create trends for financial data
- Oversee purchasing and inventory controls
- Plan menus in consultation with chefs
- Ensure knowledge of HACCP controls, proper food storage, and usage
- Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving
- Promote professional growth and development of the team
- Foster strong interdepartmental relations and integrate dining services with facility operations
- Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience
- Eight to ten years of upscale food service experience, including six years at the management level
- Experience in personnel management, including hiring, supervision, evaluation, and succession planning
- Proven track record of achieving company goals in compliance with policies and procedures
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
- Strong supervisory, scheduling, training, and coaching abilities
- Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Ability to multitask and stay focused despite constant interruptions
- Experience in food purchasing, food costs, and inventory control
- Ability to create budgets, flash reports, financial targets, and forecasts
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and reconciliation of multiple cash banks and reports
- Strong catering experience required
- High standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- ServSafe or Department of Health certification a plus
