About the role

The General Manager at Gap is responsible for leading a profitable store business plan, ensuring key metrics are met, driving sales growth, managing budgets, building high-performing teams, and delivering a best-in-class customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes results, identifies opportunities, and collaborates with the leadership team to drive key performance indicators.
  • Drives profitable sales through forecasting and scheduling.
  • Manages store budget for daily operations in support of the P&L.
  • Buys and develops highly productive teams through sourcing, selecting, and developing people.
  • Accountable for team performance through coaching and feedback.
  • Teaches and trains to build capabilities.
  • Learns and implements Standard Operating Procedures and initiatives.
  • Creates an inclusive environment.
  • Implements action plans to maximize efficiencies and productivity.
  • Leads the implementation of OMNI to deliver a frictionless customer experience.
  • Safeguards compliance standards.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of retail experience leading others.
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results.
  • Effective communication skills with customers and employees.
  • Ability to maneuver around various areas of the store, lift/carry up to 30 lbs., and work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel as required.
