General Manager 4 - Environmental Services / Custodial

About the role

In this key leadership role, you’ll oversee the operations and strategic direction of environmental services teams to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. You’ll manage budgets, drive team performance, and uphold quality and safety standards while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Accountable for managing people, setting direction and deploying resources; typically responsible for performance evaluation, pay reviews and hire/fire decisions. Results are primarily achieved through the work of others and depend on the manager's ability to influence and negotiate with parts of the organization. Progression within Career Band reflects acquisition of broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge, and process and people leadership capabilities. Accountable for business, functional or operational areas, processes or programs, which may include dotted-line or matrixed management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a large, diverse team dedicated to delivering service excellence.
• Make a meaningful impact by ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for staff, clients, and visitors.
• Drive operational outcomes and improve performance metrics.
• Take ownership of financial oversight, resource planning, and quality assurance.

• Build leadership and mentoring skills in a fast-paced, people-focused setting.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading environmental services or custodial operations in a complex setting.
• A track record of building high-performing teams through coaching, engagement, and accountability.
• Financial acumen with the skills to manage budgets, control costs, and drive efficiency.
• Technical expertise in regulatory compliance, safety standards, and custodial best practices.
• A hands-on, results-oriented approach with the flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5 years of management experience
• 5 years of related experience

Pay

Pay Range: $120,190 per year – $155,540 per year

Incentive Eligibility: Eligible to participate in Sodexo's incentive plan and earn variable compensation in addition to base salary.
