About the role
Oversee all warehouse functions including operations, transportation, personnel, and customer service, ensuring alignment with company objectives and compliance with regulations. Manage budgets, assign work, monitor departmental performance, and maintain positive relationships with customers while implementing safety procedures and supporting company programs. Negotiate labor contracts and develop plans for disaster prevention and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the annual facility budget and ensure adherence across all warehouse departments.
- Direct and assign work, set performance objectives, and monitor progress toward departmental goals.
- Oversee all warehouse activities, costs, operations, and forecasts, ensuring operational performance meets company standards.
- Provide and maintain a safe work environment by identifying safety concerns and implementing cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and all federal, state, and local OSHA regulations.
- Represent the company to warehouse customers, secure additional business, and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.
Requirements
- College degree in business, logistics, or management plus minimum 5 years of experience required in warehousing or logistics management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience required.
- Proven ability in planning, staffing, budgeting, and organizing warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with WMS and RF systems.
Qualifications
- Ability to develop effective relationships and provide leadership to integrate diverse functions and individuals toward profitability objectives.
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers, transportation brokers, and small parcel carriers, facilitating communication and resolving transportation-related issues and concerns.
- Experience leading and managing eCommerce fulfillment OR direct-to-consumer (DTC) operations in a high-growth & high-volume environment, including receiving, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, labor management, transportation coordination, and customer service.
- Strong understanding of DTC fulfillment KPIs, including order accuracy, on-time shipping, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Experience working within a temperature-controlled or cold storage warehouse/distribution site.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly in writing and verbally to diverse audiences.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing operational challenges and implementing effective solutions.
Physical Requirements
- Able to work in spaces with 55 inches (1.4 meters) of headroom.
- Able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures varying from 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) to minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius), as well as outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation).
- Able to climb ladders or step ladders.
- Able to tolerate heights up to 30 ft. (9 meters) and be able to access elevated products from inside safety cage.
- Able to wear personal protective equipment required for working at heights and in cold temperatures.
- Able to stand and/or walk continuously or frequently over an 8-10-12 hour shift. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Able to frequently step up/on or step down/off to mount and dismount material handling equipment.
- Able to perform fine articulation movements with fingers/hands and/or feet to operate equipment.
- Depending on specific role, must be able to lift boxes of varying weights up to 80 lbs. (36 kg) and carry product a distance of up to 6 ft. (2 meters) without mechanical assistance.
- Able to meet specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Able to hear and speak in order to comprehend, respond to, and provide instructions and safety warnings, as well as able to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines.
Pay
The Company's good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for this position is $117,000 - $145,500. Rate may vary based on work location.
