General Maintenance Worker

About the role

This position is responsible for performing a variety of routine and emergency maintenance tasks to support facility and production operations. The role collaborates with other stakeholders and third-party providers to ensure a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other stakeholders and third-party providers to ensure a safe working environment as it relates to tools/equipment, training, work environment, unsafe acts, identifying potential issues or other related safety items
• Works cohesively with team leadership, operators, administration
• Affords assistance in the execution of preventative maintenance activities and schedules for buildings and equipment
• Provides emergent repair and troubleshooting services across a wide range of equipment
• Cleans, lubricates, repairs, and maintains machinery using hand tools or specialized equipment; replaces or repairs defective parts
• Affords assistance in testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using devices, such as a multimeter
• Affords assistance with the ordering, purchasing of necessary parts and tools
• Understands and complies with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations; works in accordance with general safety, OSHA, ISO, FSSC and other certification requirements as applicable
• Performs non-essential duties such as assisting in maintaining the property’s exterior landscape, performing groundskeeping and routine landscape maintenance duties, and assisting in maintaining or making improvements to property by planting, pruning, grooming and maintaining of all ornamental trees, shrubs, flowers, lawns and softscape features

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent

Building maintenance experience or equivalent experience with emphasis in a related field

On-the-job training offered

Qualifications

General understanding of building maintenance and basic construction including basic plumbing, basic electrical, landscaping, etc.

Ability to use hand tools and power tools

Skills

Knowledge of applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations

Working conditions include indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to the elements/temperature variations, exposure to weather-related temperature & humidity extremes, exposure to varying levels of dust, chemicals, fumes, gases, and noisy equipment, occasional lifting and carrying, work at protected heights of 50’, work in close quarters or confined spaces, determination of color, taste and smell of wine using eyes, tongue, and nose
