About the role
Tessera is seeking a General Maintenance Worker with a positive attitude to assist skilled workers in performing various electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, or masonry work. The position is contingent upon contract award with an anticipated start date of August 25, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Assist skilled workers in performing various electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, or masonry work.
- Maintain and upkeep of the building, grounds, and equipment.
- Communicate and interact directly with the customer and supervisors, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Absorb and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
- Utilize mobile maintenance and inspection devices to maintain a record of all service and repair activities.
- Follow all Safety Procedures and Policies.
- Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
- Assemble and secure furniture and equipment as required.
- Maintain and wear PPE as required.
- Perform additional general maintenance tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Six (6) months of facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers in a professional manner.
- Must be able to work in and contribute to a team.
- Must be able to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
- Must be able to work in a variety of different environments, including high places.
- Must have good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, and a good sense of balance.
Requirements
- A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
- Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
