General Maintenance Worker
About the role
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) seeks a General Maintenance Worker to join our team in Willmar. This position performs semi-skilled jobs in various trade areas, maintaining structural integrity, energy, efficiency, security, and physical appearance of buildings and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain physical health and endurance to perform work functions.
- Follow simple oral and written instructions.
- Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.
- Keep simple records.
- Operate and maintain various types of machinery and equipment.
- Make minor repairs to buildings and equipment.
- Ensure safety of occupants and extend the usefulness of structures.
Requirements
- Knowledge of different types of flooring/floor covering.
- Chemical cleaning agents and their safe handling.
- Methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance.
- Painting products and application process.
- Maintain physical health and endurance.
- Follow simple oral and written instructions.
- Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.
- Keep simple records.
- Pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history check.
Qualifications
- Special Boilers License preferred.
- Commercial janitorial experience preferred.

$20.87 - $25.88 per hour; $43,576 - $54,037 annually
