General Maintenance Technician
About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight.
Responsibilities
- Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
- Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
- Managing and tracking service tickets, ensuring timely resolution and accurate reporting
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining fixtures, furnishings, equipment, and interior/exterior finishes
- Identifying and mitigating safety hazards to maintain compliance with workplace safety standards
- Performing preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and future repair needs
- Aiding in facility improvements such as painting, sealing, and minor construction tasks
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable
- Must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands
- Must be able to push, pull
- Must be able to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spaces
- Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, kneel
- Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights
- U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Requirements
- Exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels
- Exposure to outdoor elements
- Use various tools to include standard electronic hand tools, precision measuring instruments, shop equipment (drill press, grinder, saws, etc.), fabrication equipment (wire-wrap, crimp, and solder station), as necessary to accomplish assigned work
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Schedule
This is a Full-time position (40 hours/week) with flexible scheduling required, including weekends. May involve extended shifts (up to 12 hours) based on operational needs. Schedule can change to support launches.
