General Maintenance Technician

About the role

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. We are a team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight.

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
  • Managing and tracking service tickets, ensuring timely resolution and accurate reporting
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining fixtures, furnishings, equipment, and interior/exterior finishes
  • Identifying and mitigating safety hazards to maintain compliance with workplace safety standards
  • Performing preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and future repair needs
  • Aiding in facility improvements such as painting, sealing, and minor construction tasks

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable
  • Must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands
  • Must be able to push, pull
  • Must be able to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spaces
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, kneel
  • Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Requirements

  • Exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels
  • Exposure to outdoor elements
  • Use various tools to include standard electronic hand tools, precision measuring instruments, shop equipment (drill press, grinder, saws, etc.), fabrication equipment (wire-wrap, crimp, and solder station), as necessary to accomplish assigned work
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships

Schedule

This is a Full-time position (40 hours/week) with flexible scheduling required, including weekends. May involve extended shifts (up to 12 hours) based on operational needs. Schedule can change to support launches.
