General Maintenance Technician
About the role
General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of critical tasks including troubleshooting and repair of multiple building/facilities items such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic tube system, hospital beds, and nurse call systems. Ensures completion of assigned preventive maintenance tasks and coordinates specific craft activities with other Facilities Management team members.
Responsibilities
- Determine root causes of operating errors and repair facilities equipment or systems using necessary tools.
- Provide legible, detailed and accurate information on work orders/preventative maintenance forms.
- Complete maintenance tasks, facility preventative and corrective maintenance work orders.
- Maintain facility areas including patient rooms and common areas.
- Maintain records, update CMMS documentation, required maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, PM logs.
- Report to supervisor on a regular basis (daily) on conditions relative to general operations, safety and day-to-day activities in the facility.
- Attend daily huddles with team during shift.
Requirements
Education - High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred. Experience - Experience in building/facilities maintenance preferred. Experience - General maintenance repairs, familiar with safety procedures and trained in safe operation of building maintenance equipment and the handling of related chemicals, such as solvents/degreasers. Coordination of repairs/work in departments, report status to involved parties.
Qualifications
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
