General maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 5 years experience in the field of HVAC, with experience in A/C and Heating
• Universal EPA Refrigeration Certificate
• Demonstrated knowledge of the basic principles of construction
• Valid Black Seal Boiler License preferred (or willingness to obtain within a year)
• Clear, proactive, and positive communication skills with students, staff, and visitors
• Must be available to work flexible hours/overtime, as required
• 12 months, expected to respond to emergency situations
• Such other qualifications of academic, professional and personal excellence as the Rahway Board of Education may specify
• Must be able to maintain the physical stamina to perform lifting, prolonged standing, crawling, climbing, and working in various types of weather
• Must demonstrate the ability to adhere to safety practices and to comply with District procedures for use of cleaning products and equipment
• Must be able to comply with District and State regulations as they relate to District building and safety
• Such other qualifications of professional and personal excellence as the Rahway Board of Education may specify

Schedule

• Term of Employment: 12 months, 40 hours per week
• Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Pay

• In accordance with the negotiated agreement. The minimum starting salary is $65,531 (Step 1)
