Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively, cooperatively, and in coordination with fellow team members and others in the organization; treat them with respect, courtesy, and consideration, and show understanding and appropriate support to help accomplish tasks.
- Provide assistance, information, guidance, and resources to students, colleagues, and stakeholders; treat them in a friendly, professional, helpful, respectful, courteous, and considerate manner at all times.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality, with physical or virtual presence as required at the assigned worksite; interact directly with people at the worksite on a regular basis.
- Comply with and actively support all applicable workplace environmental health and safety policies, work rules, and practices; perform job functions in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information (e.g., employee data, student records) in accordance with Carlsbad Municipal Schools policy and federal/state/local laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA).
- Advise, coordinate, and help prioritize maintenance jobs.
- Take primary responsibility for the quality and completion of assigned jobs.
- Cooperate and maintain communication with the Maintenance department by submitting maintenance reports or requests for materials through proper channels.
- Read and follow written instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by the building principal or the Superintendent.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in institutional custodial or maintenance work or equivalent.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must pass employment verification.
Skills
- Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures and technical manuals.
- Ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, co-workers, students, and stakeholders.
