General Labor- Hatchery

Responsibilities

• Clean incubators and keep work areas clean/organized.
• Count eggs and chicks; separate and cull chicks as needed.
• Assist vaccinators and handle loading/unloading of eggs.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including PPE, reporting unsafe acts, Lockout‑Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management matters.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in company and department safety programs.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to work with others in a close environment.
• Demonstrated excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work quickly and multitask.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to temperatures up to 105 °F and humidity up to 100 %.
• Exposure to chemicals and vaccines with MSDS training and hazardous communications.
• Use of personal protective equipment as required.
• Ability to lift 40 lb to a height of 6 ft, push 75 lb a distance of 75 ft, and lift 20‑25 lb to a height of 3 ft.
• Work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment.
• Use a broom, shovel, mop, and scrub brushes; work with chemicals to wash and disinfect equipment/work area.
• Frequent stooping and kneeling.
