About the role
This position follows a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, with shifts running either 5:15 to 5:30 or 4:45 to 5:00, depending on the department. Employees work every other weekend as part of the rotation and are scheduled to work holidays that fall on their assigned workdays.
Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP, and H&S.
- Efficiently package cheese into desired packaging material.
- Identify and communicate any out-of-spec product conditions; follow the established notification protocol.
- Assist in the set-up of the packaging process, including machinery, date code printers, computers, product labels, proper vat selection, and added ingredients.
- Perform quality checks to assure product is packaged according to customer specifications on the production sheet.
- Read and comprehend production worksheets.
- Rotate into all positions on the line.
- Box and palletize boxes according to instructions, ensuring accurate counts and proper identification.
- Sanitize lines when needed.
- Enter data on production reports.
- Perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
- Produce products in a manner that exceeds quality and value expectations by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies, and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Can consistently push, pull, and lift between 20 and 40 pounds.
- Can work with frequent bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, and maneuvering around manufacturing equipment.
- Can continuously stand or walk on a concrete surface.
- Can work scheduled hours and required overtime as needed.
- Have basic analytical and numerical skills and the ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement.
- Can communicate effectively and efficiently.
- Have a working knowledge of Safety Methods and Procedures.
- Are self-motivated, able to multi-task, can work independently, and as part of a team.
- Are committed to food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate professionalism and positively represent and promote Saputo at all times.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which includes but is not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
- Physical lifting up to 40 lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift.
- Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.

Pay
$25.47 an hour + Shift Differential
