About The Opportunity The general labor position supports production activities to meet business objectives and operates various machines. This person conducts safe, efficient, and timely production of products to satisfy the customer orders and specifications. The general labor position follows the supervisor's direction, works well in a team environment and follows all company policies and procedures. Positions available on first and second shift. Key Duties And Responsibilities Practice safe working habits and maintain a clean and orderly work areaOperate machinery and equipment as required, based on level of training completedPerform process quality checks as appropriate, based on assigned responsibilitiesPerform accurate and timely paperwork as required for the responsibilities assignedPerform minor machinery and equipment maintenance and repairsAssist other workers in the Production Department as requiredTrain employees of lesser knowledge on machinery, equipment, and responsibilities as assigned by the Production and/or Crew ManagerPerform other duties necessary to the efficient operation of the facilityAssist Maintenance employees when requiredTreat fellow employees, customers, guests, vendors, etc. in a courteous, professional manner at all timesOther duties as assigned. Currently hiring for 1st shift - 7am-3pm and 2nd shift - 3pm-11pm. Some overtime may be required to meet business needs. May need to train on 1st shift. Education Required None Education Desired High School Diploma or Equivalent Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired Good communication skills (oral, written, and listening)Ability to perform basic math, including reading a ruler, calculating percentage over and under runs, counting loads and adding number of pallets for a total order countAbility to read order specifications and complete (write) daily time and production paperworkAbility to work effectively in a dynamic team environmentAbility to be flexible, a quick learner, and adaptable to changeAbility to be to work on time and maintain good attendanceAbility to operate powered industrial trucks Physical Requirements Lifting, pushing, pulling and bending, with a minimum fifty-pound weight requirement. Some responsibilities require being on feet most of the workday, standing and walking a majority of the time, others require operation of powered industrial trucks with a majority of the time spent seated. May be required to work extended daily and/or weekend work schedules based on plant requirements and the labor contract. Two companies, one vision.
