General Hematologist - Oncologist

About the role

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in an established hematology and medical oncology practice affiliated with the MaineHealth Waldo County General Hospital, an integral part of the MaineHealth Cancer Care Network. Hematologists/oncologists within the practice evaluate and treat patients with a range of hematologic and oncologic conditions, supported by specialists throughout the MaineHealth system.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with a range of hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Participate in subspecialty, system-wide multidisciplinary tumor boards
• Offer subspecialty clinic services at the nearby Penobscot Bay Medical Center/MaineHealth Rockport Cancer Care location

Requirements

• Prior experience in oncology within an academic health system or academically-oriented private practice is preferred
• Strong candidates in the early stages of their careers will be considered

Qualifications

• Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.)
• Board certification in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Hematology and/or Medical Oncology residency program

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient care
