Hematologist Oncologist

About the role

Sovah Health is seeking a hospital-employed, full-time BC/BE Hematologist/Oncologist to join their established team in Martinsville, VA. The position offers a supportive, collaborative work environment with access to necessary staff, resources, and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to bi-weekly tumor board and clinical trial programs
• Utilize Aria Oncology information system
• Treat patients in an outpatient clinic averaging 25-30 per day
• Work in an inpatient setting referred to larger academic centers
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, pharmacists, and other specialists
• Engage with local cancer specialists from gastroenterology, urology, pulmonology, ENT, and nephrology
• Provide comprehensive care for common oncology conditions such as breast, prostate, lung, colon, head/neck cancers, and a strong hematology panel
• Work closely with tertiary centers in the region
• Participate in ACOS-CoC accreditation efforts

Requirements

• Board Certification or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
• Current Medical License in Virginia
• Experience in outpatient and inpatient settings preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Completion of an approved residency program in Hematology/Oncology
• Passing scores on all required exams
