About the role

Assist shop personnel with a variety of support tasks based on department placement. Under direct supervision, this role involves assisting in various shop activities by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist operators in conducting shop processes.
• Load and unload materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors, or trucks.
• Transport aircraft/aerospace parts to various designated work areas for processing.
• Assist operators in racking parts, washing parts, striping masking, drilling work holes in raw stock, and cleaning hardware such as hooks, chains, and shackles.
• Place tooling on parts.
• Provide support to shop personnel where needed.
• Operate hand tools and handling equipment when instructed.
• Read traveler or work instructions necessary to assist in the operational process.
• Move materials and supplies for department personnel.
• Assist with housekeeping and cleanup operations.
• Lift metal parts or stock onto machines and secure them on machine tables, in chucks, or holding fixtures to assist in setting up machines.
• Perform light mechanical assembly.
• Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple directions, traveler or work instructions, MSD sheets, and part numbers.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one settings.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Critical thinking skills and good decision-making processes.
• Understanding and application of directions provided by lead/supervisor/manager.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Forklift Certification may be required for some openings.

Pay

Base compensation: USD 18.00 per hour.
