About the Role

This is where your work makes a difference. As a Maintenance Specialist, you will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the facility, including production machines, motors, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, boilers, ovens, electrical controls, and power distribution equipment to help keep operations running safely and efficiently.

You will be part of the Maintenance team and work closely with Production Operators, Engineers, Supervisors, and outside service providers to solve equipment issues, improve reliability, and support a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Fix, maintain, and install equipment across the facility to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Use wiring diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and other instructions to identify and solve equipment problems.
  • Complete routine preventive maintenance to help prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life.
  • Find and repair electrical problems, including replacing faulty parts when needed.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical equipment, including motors, pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Create or update wiring diagrams and maintenance records to support future repairs.
  • Order and track parts and supplies needed for maintenance work and recommend important spare parts to keep on hand.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and help minimize production downtime.
  • Work with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and service technicians to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Support the installation of new equipment and help improve existing equipment.
  • Participate in team meetings and help solve equipment and production issues.
  • Communicate equipment concerns, repair updates, and improvement ideas with supervisors and team members.
  • Record maintenance activities and equipment information accurately.
  • Help train and support operators and team members when needed.
  • Identify potential equipment problems, safety concerns, or production interruptions and recommend solutions.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two-year technical college education or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with:
    • Motors, conveyors, and pumps
    • Hydraulics and pneumatics
    • Electrical systems and controls
    • Basic PLC troubleshooting and fault finding
    • Preventive maintenance programs
    • CMMS systems such as Maximo
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to pass the Grade 4 Maintenance Test.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for most of your shift.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach while working on equipment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Heavier items may require assistance or lifting equipment.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, and platforms as needed.
  • Work in tight or confined spaces when performing maintenance tasks.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, gauges, and computer screens.
  • Distinguish colors for electrical wiring and components.
  • Work around moving machinery, electrical equipment, and manufacturing processes while following all safety requirements.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, oils, and other industrial conditions.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing and production environment.
  • May require overtime, weekend work, or call-ins to support equipment repairs and production needs.
  • Regular exposure to machinery, electrical systems, and industrial equipment while following established safety procedures.

Pay

This position has a salary pay rate of $30.08 per hour, plus shift differential for off shifts.
