General Engineer.

Duties

Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for Public Works related design, construction, maintenance, and repair projects, under the delegated authority from the Contracting Officer.

Serves as an engineering authority responsible for the review and approval of contract modifications.

Reviews designs by others for technical accuracy and constructability, and provides recommended changes.

Identifies the need for future construction projects and integrates them into the Annual Construction project lists.

Performs supervisory personnel management functions to include evaluating performance of subordinates, interviewing applicants, and making selections for vacancies.

Performs supervisory personnel management functions to include recommending incentive awards, disciplinary action, training of subordinates, and approving leave.

Directs and coordinates personnel engaged in Quality Assurance (QA) of maintenance, repair, and construction projects.

To qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience:

• Applying multidisciplinary engineering principles to support the planning, design, and construction of facilities projects.
• Reviewing engineering and architectural designs for technical accuracy, constructability and compliance with standards.
• Monitoring facilities engineering or construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with drawings specifications and schedules.

Education

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
