Business Development$200k–$250k/yrFull-time

An established and growing roofing contractor is seeking a proven roofing leader to launch and grow a new Texas branch. You will have the support, resources, and financial backing of an established organization, along with the autonomy to build the local team, develop the market, and take full ownership of the branch’s performance.

About the Role

This is not simply an operations position. You will be responsible for the branch’s full P&L, including revenue growth, margins, overhead, cash flow, collections, operational performance, and profitability. You must have a proven track record of growing a roofing operation while maintaining healthy profit margins.

Responsibilities

  • Build the company’s presence within the Texas market.
  • Develop relationships with general contractors, property managers, developers, facility managers, building owners, and other decision-makers.
  • Generate business through existing relationships, networking, referrals, industry associations, and strategic outreach.
  • Prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close profitable work.
  • Identify the right opportunities while protecting margins and avoiding unprofitable volume.
  • Take complete responsibility for branch revenue, expenses, margins, overhead, and profitability.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and growth plans.
  • Monitor project financials, billing, collections, cash flow, and backlog.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators across sales, estimating, production, safety, and financial performance.
  • Make informed business decisions that support sustainable, profitable growth.
  • Oversee and contribute to estimating for commercial and residential roofing projects.
  • Review plans, specifications, scopes, and material takeoffs.
  • Develop accurate, competitive pricing while maintaining appropriate margins.
  • Support contract negotiations and ensure clean project handoffs from sales and estimating into operations.
  • Build, lead, and develop the local branch team.
  • Oversee Project Managers, Superintendents, field personnel, subcontractors, sales professionals, and administrative staff.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the company’s quality standards.
  • Manage labor planning, scheduling, equipment, materials, and subcontractor resources.
  • Create a culture built around accountability, communication, safety, and performance.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements, company standards, and applicable state and local regulations.

Requirements

  • At least five years of leadership experience within commercial and/or residential roofing.
  • Proven experience managing a branch, business unit, division, or multiple departments.
  • Direct responsibility for a P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, margins, overhead, cash flow, and profitability.
  • A documented track record of growing revenue while protecting or improving profit margins.
  • Strong roofing sales, estimating, project management, and operational experience.
  • Established business-development skills and the ability to build relationships within the Texas market.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial low-slope and residential steep-slope roofing systems.
  • An understanding of construction accounting, project financials, billing, and collections.
  • The ability to hire, develop, and hold a team accountable.
  • A self-directed, entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout the local market.

Preferred Experience

  • Commercial roofing
  • Multifamily roofing
  • Industrial roofing
  • New construction and reroofing
  • Public-sector or institutional projects
  • Waterproofing
  • Branch startups, market expansion, or turnaround leadership

Pay

  • Competitive executive-level base salary
  • Performance-based bonus and incentive plan
  • On-target earnings of $200,000–$250,000+
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
  • Fuel card

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation and holidays

Why Consider This Opportunity

You will not be stepping into a position where every decision has already been made for you. You will have the opportunity to build a branch, shape the team, develop the market, and directly benefit from the results you produce. The company provides the capital, infrastructure, reputation, and resources. You bring the roofing expertise, relationships, leadership, and proven ability to run a profitable operation.
