Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for complex maintenance and repair tasks in areas such as carpentry, locksmith, electricity, HVAC, plumbing, boiler operation, and energy plant operations.
• Oversees construction projects, assigns work to other maintenance workers, and ensures compliance with safety and building codes.
• Conducts inspections to ensure employees follow proper operating, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Initiates preventative maintenance; recommends improvements to increase the efficiency of crews and equipment.
• Performs as a member of a multi-skilled team in the repair, maintenance, construction, and demolition of facilities and facility systems.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• A high school diploma and trades experience directly related to the area of employment.
• A valid South Carolina Driver’s license.
• The ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and stand for long periods.
• The ability to climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.
• The ability to lift and carry up to 50/75 lbs.
• The ability to work in confined spaces, hot, hazardous, and noisy locations, and adverse weather conditions.
• Participation in the on-call program and to work after hours as an on-call technician.
