Job Responsibilities
Performs maintenance and repair tasks in areas like electricity, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and boiler operation.
Aids in maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, compressors, and appliances.
Documents completed man hours and supplies used in maintenance and repair to Agency Work Orders in a timely manner.
Assists other departments with purchase requisitions as needed to complete maintenance or repair tasks.
Makes emergency and general repairs and adjustments to equipment used in building and maintenance work.
Conducts routine inspections to ensure employees adhere to proper operating, maintenance, and safety procedures for routine jobs.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent and trade experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of refrigeration, mechanical, and boiler systems, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC equipment.
- A preferred qualification is a license in EPA-approved Freon recovery certification.
Additional Comments
- Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.
- Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces, hot, hazardous, and noisy locations, and adverse weather conditions.
- The position requires participation in the on-call program and working after hours as an on-call technician.
