About the role

The Fluid Systems Design engineer at Fluid Systems Design utilizes engineering principles to design systems that enable the operation of our Aeroderivative gas turbine. This includes systems such as hydraulic start, ventilation and combustion air, turbine lube oil, gas fuel, liquid fuel, generator lube oil, and other systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Fluid system design reviews and coordinate necessary milestones and action items to closure.
  • Develop component specifications as needed and coordinate the interface requirements to the mechanical design, electrical design, and controls teams.
  • Support business critical programs like Product Cost Out (PCO) and Reliability, Accessibility and Maintainability (RAM).
  • Utilize fluid system expertise to support the overall Aero internal and external customers, including Aero Services, Manufacturing, CM&U, Applications/Sales, Project Management, etc.
  • Conducts component and product integration.
  • Manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down.
  • Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.
  • Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams.
  • Manages interface between components and execution organizations.
  • Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components.
  • Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.
  • Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline.
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience.
  • Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
  • Solves issues using established procedures.
  • Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Collaborates with others to solve issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 0-1 year engineering experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Recent university graduate with past internship experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Unigraphics NX.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.

Pay and Benefits

  • Pay Range: $72,000 - $108,000
  • Geographic Differential: 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
