About the role

Performs and leads personnel administrative work in researching, analyzing, and processing personnel transactions for MCEA certificated, non-certificated, and supporting services positions. Maintains position control by ensuring the number and type of paid positions do not exceed authorized positions and employees are assigned to proper positions/locations.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, and process personnel transactions for certificated and non-certificated staff.
  • Maintain position control to ensure compliance with authorized positions and proper employee assignments.
  • Apply knowledge of staffing procedures, fiscal implications, transfers, and promotions in central office and schools.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse school staff, leadership, community, government agencies, and local service organizations.
  • Lead and train others in personnel staffing processes.
  • Maintain complex records and prepare reports.
  • Make decisions based on experience, judgment, and established policies.
  • Multi-task, assess project priorities, and adapt to changing requests.
  • Utilize human resource tracking software and database-oriented staffing management systems (e.g., Human Resources Online).
  • Use Oracle Discoverer to manipulate report conditions based on requested parameters.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a human resource environment, preferably in a central office setting.
  • Experience using human resource tracking software for staffing.
  • Proficiency with office computing software and database-oriented staffing management systems (e.g., Human Resources Online).
  • Proficiency with Oracle Discoverer.

Associates degree preferred. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Considerable knowledge of staffing processing procedures and applicable rules/regulations.
  • Working knowledge of school organizational communications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including staff, leadership, community, and government agencies.
  • Knowledge of staffing processes, organizational change, and position change management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, human relations, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain complex records and prepare reports.
  • Strong decision-making skills based on experience and established policies.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects in a dynamic environment.

Physical Demands

Position requires sustained operation of computers.

Special Requirements

Annual leave may be limited during the summer season.

Pay

The wage range for this position is $28.57 to $42.13 per hour, based on years of service.
